PINK SANDS VOTED # 4 TOP ATLANTIC OCEAN RESORT

11/29/2005

HARBOUR ISLAND, THE BAHAMAS (November 29, 2005) - Readers of Condé Nast Traveler have voted Pink Sands on Harbour Island in The Bahamas the number four Top Atlantic Ocean Resort with a rating of 83.3%. Results of the "2005 Readers' Choice Awards" are published in the November issue.

"We owe a great 'thank you' to our guests who took the time to cast their votes for us; to the travel agents and partners; and to our dedicated teams on Harbour Island and around the world, whose efforts and hard work enable us to achieve such recognition," said General Manager Clemens von Merveldt.

Expect understated chic at the Pink Sands on Harbour Island in the Bahamas, where the beach is a swathe of rosy powder. The 25 pastel cottages may have a hot designer - and even hotter celebrity guest list - but this resort is all about the privacy. Celebs are said to flock here, but the management is hush and this retreat maintains its relaxed air, far from the paparazzi and maddening crowds. Lush tropical vegetation twines across this 20-acre haven: coconut palms, hibiscus, bougainvillea, jasmine and ground orchids flourish here. The area is even designated as an official bird sanctuary. Smaller rooms boast Art-Deco flourishes, while larger ones turn to Indonesia for inspiration. Local artwork and batik fabrics enhance these cheerful colorful cottages. This beachfront estate stands beside its namesake, the glamorous and legendary three-mile strip of pink sands. Pink Sands isn't the place to stargaze. Rather it's a chance to enter the constellation and shine.

For the Condé Nast Traveler award, resorts were rated in the categories of rooms, service, food/dining, location, overall design and activities/facilities. Every year since 1988, a select sample of Conde Nast Traveler readers have taken the Readers Choice Survey. In 2005, the questionnaire was made available to 387,205 subscribers. The final tabulations of 27,957 responses were done by Mediamark Research, Inc. of New York City.
